Sustainability

Be kind. Always.

Be kind. Always.

All you need to do is make the change from buying to renting your baby’s clothes and you are already being kinder to the environment.

Being kind is important and we all benefit from it.

Can renting baby clothes be 100% sustainable?

Can renting baby clothes be 100% sustainable?

No, not really, but 9plus1 is choosing the most sustainable options in everything we do and, because we are doing that, we are making it so easy for you to be more sustainable too.

Here are just some of the ways 9plus1 is already contributing to being more environmentally responsible:

  • Our brands are carefully chosen due to their ethical manufacturing, use of mainly organic materials and striving to minimise their impact on the environment.
  • Renting, instead of buying, extends the lifespan of baby clothing by up to 15 times.
  • None of our baby clothes go to landfill. More specifically, we choose to upcycle our clothes when they are no longer suitable to rent and only recycle when this is not an option.
  • Cleaning the clothes is done entirely in-house, giving us full control over the products that we are using. All our machines are specifically programmed for baby clothes to ensure the clothes you are receiving are clean and fresh, while at the same time we have reduced water usage and the amount of cleaning products required.
  • We are committed to renewable energy and have a solar panel system installed at our offices and warehouse, providing our facilities with clean and sustainable electricity. Our gas supply is 100% carbon neutral.
  • For packaging, we are using cardboard boxes from recycled and fully sustainable sources and reusable mailing bags that can be sent back an wort up to 150 before they willbe recycled to a new product.
  • All cardboard, polythene and paper we use is recycled.
As babies grow quickly - too quickly many will say - they don’t use their clothes for long!

As babies grow quickly - too quickly many will say - they don’t use their clothes for long!

On average, a baby goes through six sizes of clothing in their first year.

This fact makes baby clothes the ultimate fast fashion. Fast fashion that we cannot avoid.
